This episode is about how Eddy, sick of getting cheap presents for Christmas, plans to get adopted by one of the neighborhood kids so he can mooch off of their presents. And the series is a great representation of all the strange things we do as kids.Ed, Edd n Eddy's Jingle Jingle Jangle is the Christmas special of Ed, Edd n Eddy. The characters (what few there were) had their own quirks and different personalities that blended well with one another. The series maintained a consistent sense of humor, often going into subtly darker material that would usually fly past the heads of its child viewers. Yes, there was “Fa-La-La-La Ed”, but that was still set in summer in a sort of “Christmas in July” scenario. It’s the standard “grump discovering the true meaning of Christmas” scenario. These items are created by the design team. The story primarily follows Eddy going to the other kids’ houses in order to take some of their presents because he finds out that his parents only got him clothes for Christmas. This is the Official Ed, Edd n Eddy merry Christmas ugly sweater, hoodie, sweater, tank top and long sleeve tee. Yet, as you’d expect, something keeps on going wrong that prevents him from getting anything. It’s something that fits in perfectly with his character. However, he also has one shining moment of kindness, allowing the audience to see that there is still good within him.I’m not kidding when I say that Eddy’s every action (apart from one) is built entirely on his fixation with getting Christmas presents. And it all comes down to one primary thing: Eddy remains a greedy jerk to the end. How much do hearing aid costHe uses the spare light in his pocket in order to properly light the tree again, which causes the tree to glow brighter than ever before. Eddy sees a Christmas tree that has one of its lights busted. Which, again, is just like him.It isn’t until he’s been given total rejection and moping in the snow that he undergoes his own little bit of character development. Cam video im pro driverHe may have committed a good deed, but it looks like Eddy still hasn’t understood the true meaning of Christmas. There’s also something that I never thought of until just now. This makes the revelation all the funnier when Santa ends up giving everyone presents and Eddy still goes and steals them all for himself. For this one moment, Eddy has shown that he can be selfless, that there is a better person underneath all that greed. It makes for a wonderful little moment because (as Double D puts it) “you gave willingly of your heart without thought of your own gain”. ![]() The two most amusing ones are easily Jonny and Rolf. Everyone has their own little segments, mostly focused on how they celebrate Christmas. If any of this is true, it paints Eddy’s home life as being quite sad and understandable why he has grown to be as greedy as he has become. But while this is primarily Eddy’s story, it doesn’t mean that the rest of the Cul-de-sac is left out. This could have been the same case for his brother, which would have eventually lead to him leaving home. Eddy still being a child wouldn’t necessarily put two-and-two together, especially if his parents kept quiet about it. Ed shows a great obsession with Santa, even going so far as wanting Santa to take him away. Neither of them get much focus in the episode, but the times they appear are still good. Her song is reminscent of the old folk tales of Santa Claus and the Krampus, in which very dark deeds would be done to the naughty children that didn’t follow the rules. And, obviously, I couldn’t possibly leave out the other Eds. Rolf, being from the stereotypical European-ish country, celebrates Christmas with a variety of meats and sings the song of the troll Yeshmiyek. He even calls himself Jack Frost. Still, their presence is very welcoem. The most unexpected part of the special comes from The Kanker Sisters’ subplot in which they end up becoming a direct parody of the Three Wise Men. Apart from a few short moments, they don’t go through any changes. Some have found his actions to be annoying, but I’ve always appreciated the maturity that Double D has. It delivers the laughs and anyone that has followed the show up to this point will find the change of season refreshing, setting the stage for the last two seasons of the series. Eddy has been punished for his selfish actions and not a single lesson was learned.“Jingle Jingle Jangle” is exactly what you’d expect from an “Ed, Edd n Eddy” Christmas special, which is not a bad thing. The Kankers arrive at the shed and, as you might expect, start making out with the Eds. By this point, Ed and Double D have unintentionally gotten dressed up as a shepard and angel, respectively, and try to stop Eddy, who ends up falling into a manger in the struggle (and causes the presents to land back to their intended recipients). Huh… of all the places I would expect to see a parody of the Nativity… I sure wasn’t expecting it here. And they happen to find items of “mold”, “franks and cents”, and “fur”. It all leads to Eddy, with the stolen presents in hand, running into Rolf’s shed (which has his animals). They end up following a bright light that beckons them.
